Porrima Inc. was co-founded by Acer Group founder Stan Shih and "Blue Economy" pioneer Gunter Pauli. The company is dedicated to the industrialization of zero-emission vessels. Positioned as a "non-shipbuilding ship company," Porrima collaborates with suppliers to establish a new global ecosystem for zero-emission vessels.

In May 2024, Porrima completed an NT$800 million fundraising initiative with investors including the National Development Fund, the Shih family investment company, Taiwan Development Industrial Bank, Acer, Wistron, and eight other institutional shareholders. The company plans to upgrade the experimental vessel Porrima into Porrima 111, expected to undergo testing in February 2025. Additionally, another zero-emission vessel, Porrima 77, is set to begin its design phase in the second half of 2025.

Porrima aims to establish a new operational model of "Taiwan-designed, locally built" to drive the development of net-zero carbon emission vessels and contribute to global sustainability.
